A Slave I Am
Another day I'm forced to fight.
And yet another day that I have not a right,
To live, to breathe, to be free.
A slave I am to those that own me.
An insect I am to those who don't know me.
There isn't a day now that I don't wish for a life,
A life without fear, heartbreak, or strife.
So long since I have been able to walk outside,
Without a chain around my throat.
So long since I have been able to be peaceful inside,
Without being fearful of another blow.
No longer am I a human being,
I'm just another thing people despise seeing.
This life is no longer worth living,
It's already nothing worth believing.
